First Toman of the Season

The first rains after a long, hot dry spell always triggers freshwater fish to feed. Lower, more comfortable temperatures lure predators into newly inundated areas where prey are feeding.
This fattie took a liking to my glide bait.

My Swinghead Rigs

These lures are great! Weedless, casts far and of course catches. Attaching different types of plastics gives you a versatile rig that can be used for various conditions and predators.

You can rip, crawl, bounce these lures anywhere in the water column.

Navotas Threadies

Steven and I decided to go for a half day trip to  get some dinner fare. Navotas is the nearest spot to go to that has good/great fishing. reports indicated that only juvvie threadies were present but that was good enough for a couple of desperate anglers looking for some action.
 Dawn at Tangos, Navotas

 Mussel beds

 Fish Traps

These fences funnel the fish to the circular trap at the end.
 Threadie on a Got-Cha!
 Steven all wrapped up.
These are really small. Usually we catch them in the 1-4 kilo range.
If you're around and want to try this experience, feel free to contact me. +6329272610702.

Puerto Azul Again

Needed a spot to test a newly acquired 5hp outboard so Puerto Azul was the best choice

By 9am, the wind had picked up so I beached the rig and fished from the rocks.

This cuda took a liking to my Got-Cha.

In typical cuda fashion, this fish dive-bombed the lure from above.
Whatever the cudas' lack in fighting ability, they make up for in mean looks.

Lost a monster cuda on my swimming worm rig AARGH!!!

The usual threadies showed up too. This one took a liking to my spoon.

A couple more on the killer spoon. This spot really produces and is so close to home.

Beautiful Handcarved Japanese Lures

The Japanese are known for their attention to detail and quality with whatever they make. Lures are no exception.
These two are made by Endoh Tatsumi. Extremely detailed! I'd like to tie them on and cast them out just to see them swim but the thought of marring the finish holds me back.
This one's a Ducks
I can't I.D. this one.
